  • Website Misc.

Well, here we are after about 2 months of very intense learning how to do web publishing all over again. This website was created in Microsoft's Visual Studio Community 2013. It's free and has more features than I will ever need. The site was programmed in C#, Javascript, HTML5, CSS3 and I had to learn everything that went into it! I would have been happier rebuilding an engine, or welding something, but have you seen web site prices lately? There is so much I don't know but I waffle back and forth on whether I care or not. A pretty decent place to get information on how to start down this road is Bob Tabor's LearnVisualStudio.Net site. If you are just a tad smarter than me, you won't have any problem picking it all up. Keep those cards and letters coming!

I am not known for my graphic design work, but back in the day I made a few things out of necessity. You can't own a commercial printing/publishing business without having the basics covered. Being a Print Shop Owner for over 25 years, you get an occasional request for new logos, or some special design work. Fortunately living in a small Kansas town, people are more utilitarian. I have been the editor for several publications over the years and the following graphics is what I used when the time came up.

for any caricature of me, go to devestechnet.com/Home/MorePix there is a few pics of me in there somewhere.

Both are 1200 dpi so usable in Print. These are made to bring forth a confidence that you fully understand the geometry in the design equation. Got me a lot of business in the past.

Restarted the Forum software to upgrade to VBulletin 5.5. This actually caused about a 2 day downtime because I am learning this stuff and it's going slow! Software is looking really solid so far!
