  • Pictures and Graphics on DevesTechNet.com

    Upload all the pictures, images, graphics you want! The size is unlimited. Avatars need to be 75x75 pixels for best results, VBulletin has it's own algorithm for bandwidth management to control the image size cost to the server as well as the display costs for lower bandwidth users. The thumbnails VBulletin makes for you are 200x200 pixels.

    For more advanced posters, the editing capabilities of this software are nothing short of amazing. If you want to display a picture with a rounded border that is 2 pixels wide with a radius of 10 pixels, for example, all you have to do is double click on your image and in the "Style" box, add the following:

    border:2px solid black; -webkit-border-radius: 10px; -moz-border-radius: 10px; border-radius: 10px;

    That is just the beginning since any CSS code works on any part of your post. Pictures wrap around the text if you choose left or right in that same dialog. If you are a geek like me, don't forget to tell me what cool things you find along the way!

        Has to do with me not being a very good administrator yet. Avatars WERE restricted to 200 by 200 pixels. They are now restricted to 600 pixels wide by 400 pixels in height. I also made the maximum amount of photos you can store here 1000. Hope its enough! Have fun!

            It works, but the best way to do it so it fills up the entire box is to keep Avatars square. So in this case 400 by 400. Crop the picture to fill the entire screen. Just sayin!

            Thats a sweet ride man! If you make it square, by cropping, people will get to see more of it. When you have time, I am sure everyone would love to hear all about your project in your gallery posts. To share it elsewhere, just "copy link address". Holler if you need help!

              I'm new to the concept of an Avatar. I was able to resize this photo, but I couldn't make it square? Am I missing something here?

              Help!

                I know right? So here is what I do. Put the photo into an editor program such as photoshop and crop the image to a square size. I realize you won't get the whole truck that way. If you take the picture from further away, you can get a square photo that would work better. If it were me, I would program the Avatar function so that you can take rectangular photos, but that is beyond my pay grade. 400 pixels by 400 pixels work best.

                  Okay, now I understand! I tried for all I was worth to crop that photo square, but it just wouldn't cooperate. Later, I'll give it another go with a different photo.

                  Thanks for the help!

                    You can also email me a good one and I can do it for you. I use Photoshop alot and if that makes it easier, happy to help. Email it to deve@speedprint.com in the normal camera resolution.

                      Here's where I ended up for this evening. I can re-size to get the 400 by 400 pixels; however, it looks like I should keep trying......

                      No, wait for it, here it is!

                          If I remember correctly, I cropped the pic in Photo and then re-sized it in Microsoft Paint. I'm sure there's an easier way, but hey, it worked for me!

                              Yes Dalton. There is the Members Gallery which is on the top tier menu. Feel free to ad your project and tell us as much about it as you like.
