My HO52 pinion bearing seal will be installed today. It's the last thing to do to finish the rebuild. The seal does not have a lip. How far into the front bearing support should the seal be installed? Also, does the felt ring go in first? Thanks Jim

One of the best resources for this other than the shop manual is SA310 Chevy Differentials - How to Rebuild the 10 and 12 bolt by Jefferson Bryant. If his is like mine, they are available on Amazon. I have never installed a differential seal that doesn't have a lip. Maybe someone else can help. For me, no lip means it would need to be flush with the edge of the housing. I would prefer one with a lip because the lip provides stability.Deve Krehbiel
