Until now, the only way I had to accommodate the 216 or some 57 235/261 owners without that triangular motor mount boss on the sides of the engine was a "Clamp on the top frame rail" solution. This was problematic for Car owners or any vehicle that actually uses those side motor mounts. To remedy this problem, I designed an adapter plate that when used together with the Transdapt 1028 spin-on adapter mounts to two of the oil pans mounting bolts. This places the filter still higher than the bottom of the oil pan and there is no interference with the frame. By having the adapter on the engine, you eliminate any problems caused my adverse movement between the engine and the frame (hose wear). This also allows you to choose any two oil pan screws on the Drivers side of the engine allowing for dual exhaust, or even custom placement due to side motor mounting. Pics and explanation here:
