  • Fuel - unleaded

The recommended fuel for 1952 GM 216 ci engine is LEADED fuel. Leaded fuel is no longer available.
Which unleaded fuel and fuel additive should we use?

Be sure to use NO ALCOHOL regular gas. I have never had a problem using regular 87 octane. The only place to get leaded gas reliably is at an airport. They sell 100 octane leaded gas for small aircraft. Never use anything to do with Ethanol because it goes bad and can (and has) caused major problems. Every lawn mower manufacturer has a warning about Ethanol that you must not leave it in the tank longer than 3 months. I personally have removed several tanks, had them cleaned and replaced fuel lines because someone let ethanol gas sit in the tank for over a year.

Thanks for the detail info. We have observed that the fuel in the tank has gotten cloudy and we recently experienced issue with the carburetor. Right now we have the carb apart and installing new repair kit.
