This time of year is a great time to really go over your Heater system. Some of our trucks have something called the Ranco Heater Control Valve. This is usually associated with the Harrison Deluxe Heater that was a dealer installed option back in the day. If your truck is a 6 volt system, all there really is to do is make sure the heater core isn't leaking, the fan is working and your heater switch is operational on all settings. 65 years later, your heater switch could be bad, or the core could be leaking, or the motor could be bad. None of these things are hard to fix. If you have gone to 12 volts, there are other options that could be of interest. Check out the following two articles before it gets COLD!
