Overdrive automatic transmission

I'm looking at adapting a 700R4 auto trans to a 235. Has anyone done this or any other overdrive trans before?

Cliff, I am sure that has been done. There are specialty transmission shops around the country that may know how (possibly Northwest Transmissions, 800-327-1955) that could get you started, but the problem you will have with something as large as a 700R4 is cutting into the body sheet metal and restructuring it to accommodate something that large. Could get very pricey and turn into a very large project. Keeping the transmission Standard 5 speed will allow you to put a Tremec T5 (it is a 5 speed standard with overdrive) in without doing more than possibly cutting a hole for the shifter a little further back than normal. If you are set on doing that, please share with us exactly how you did it and what all was involved.

Most projects like this get stalled due to a lack of knowledge on how its done. If someone takes the first step and fully documents it, it is much more likely others will follow.
